Guest Speaker

Our guest speaker today was our member Cam Scott, telling us about his trip to Europe.

Cam presentation covered the 2 weeks he, his wife (Luba) and their older son (Chris, aka Cam’s personal IT guy) recently spent visiting Scotland, Shetland and Norway.  Stops in Scotland included Edinburgh, Glasgow, and Inverness (along with a number of scotch distilleries in the area known as Speyside).  Cam’s paternal roots took them to Shetland, a very scenic and interesting place with strong Norwegian connections (see Shetland Bus). After that, it was a 1-hr flight, due east, to Bergen, Norway.  Bergen has a look that is not dissimilar to Vancouver but with $17 pints of beer.  The downtown fish market, with its surrounding restaurants and pubs, were some of the Bergen highlights.
