Rotary Moment:
Carlos told us about how popular our Facebook page has become. Every week Matthew, Iozsef and Carlos post content about our meetings and our projects. The page currently has 3,500 fans, people who see our content as is published. Just last week our post about the Hoopathon cheque presentation meeting got over 1,200 views!

Announcements:
1) The seniors lunch will take place on December 13th at the Coast Plaza hotel. We expect 250 seniors to attend.
2) The 2016 edition of the Hoopathon will take place on June 4th. Please let Gary Chomyn know if you would like to be part of the committee.
3) We are still gathering donations for our Christmas raffle, our goal is to have $5K in ticket sales.
4) Reminder about the project from the Gibsons Rotary club called "Roll the Hippo". These hippos are water rollers that help women and children in Africa (http://www.roll-a-hippo.com/Rotary). Our club has pledged 3 hippos, please contact John to make your pledges. Each hippo costs only USD150.
Today we had a business meeting to discuss our 3 year strategic plan. Here are some of the items we discussed:
- We will continue with committee based governance.
- We are sponsoring an Interact Club at King George secondary school.
- Our international projects will be: project amigo and hippo roller.
- Our local projects will be: Hoopathon and the seniors Christmas lunch.
- Rotary foundation: we are encouraging more members to become part of the bequest society by donating $25 per month. To be part of the Paul Harris society you need to donate $1K per year. This is easy to set up online at this link: https://www.rotary.org/en/annual-fund-and-share
Thought of the day: Good friends are hard to find. Harder to leave and impossible to forget.
