Hello Everyone, these are the highlights from this weeks' meeting:
4 Way Test: Diana Theman read the test for us
Guests: Today we had Rui Ferreira who is an exchange student from Brazil
Visiting Rotarians: Ken Robinson from Colorado and ADG Davinder Grewal
Rotary Moment: ADG Davinder talked about the importance of membership and how we all need to work hard on it.
Sergeant at Arms: We skipped this today for lack of time.
Announcements:
- Our day at the races event will be on Friday August 28th. Please make sure you let Sheila know if you are coming.
- We have some options to go ahead with the Christmas Seniors lunch. We are looking at an expense of 10K. We are going to work with the WESN to try to save the event.
Guest Speaker: Today we had Luis Brasfeder, who is the Trade Commissioner of Mexico in the Consulate.
Some interesting tidbits from his presentation:
- 40% of mining projects in Mexico have Canadian investment.
- Canada is Mexico's 4th largest trade partner.
- Canadians own 700 mining projects in Mexico.
